NHS Health Checks
Part 1 of the NHS Health Checks can be done either in a GP Practice or in GP Access appointment. This will be a full health check for anybody between 40 and 74 who do not already have a chronic illness. This will include blood test, blood pressure and all lifestyle questions.
When these results are back Part 2 will be completed by the GP Practice to calculate their CVD risk. This data is collected per practice by PHD every quarter. Any completed checks with mandatory information will not be passed for payment. These lists are passed to GP Practices to verify the number for payment. Information from these health checks are sent to Public Health Team.
The target to achieve for NHS Health Checks is 20% of the eligible population.
